The Verdict: What's In A Title?

Many people have different opinion's on what a title should represent. Some say that titles should be used to pinpoint and award the true face or figure head of a wrestling promotion. Others say that titles are tools to get younger talents over. In the early 90's the Intercontinental titles and Television titles alike were viewed as the belts held by the most talented wrestlers, whereas the World Title was viewed as the belt held by the most bankable of stars. Today no such meaning or prestige lies in either strap within the WWE (ROH and TNA are debatable) as we see the World title constantly thrust upon newcomers like Jack Swagger and Sheamus, while midcard straps land around the waists of green acquisitions like Drew McIntyre, and I'm not even going to try and scratch the surface with the Women's title or tag team belts.

But what's your opinion? What should each title mean? What should a title's purpose be? To get talent over? Or to award the one's who bust their humps and sell out arenas?

TNA Impact Episode 8 Please Rate the Show (Part 2)?

David Young vs. Konnan w/ BG James & Ron Killings

At the beginning of the match, Young attacked Konnan after Konnan got done doing his nearly decade old prematch spiel. Young punches and kicks Konnan. Young goes up top but Konnan gets his foot up. Konnan with some big rights hands followed by the rolling thunder clothesline. Konnan sends Young to the corner, but Konnan receives a back elbow followed by a clothesline from Young. James distracts Young from the outside and punches Young, after which Konnan nails a DDT. James then distracts the ref as Killings comes off the top rope with a legdrop to the groin of Young. Konnan then gets Young up, only to kick him in the stomach and send him down with a facebuster (K Thunder?). Konnan makes the cover for the win. Not much of a match after 3 solid contests to open the show.

Winner: Konnan

-Backstage DDP and Raven argue about Erik Watts. Raven accuses DDP of being a bad friend, and he says he won't get Watts fired like DDP did. Raven says he has Watts wrapped around his finger. Raven finds out Watts is standing right behind him. Watts gives Raven a shoulder to the face, and then takes Raven out to the arena and the ring. Watts hits Raven with a garbage can in the ring. Watts then gives a drop toe hold to Raven, dropping Raven face first into the trash can. Watts then gives Raven a chokeslam. Watts and DDP celebrate in the ring.

-Tenay is in the ring now hyping up the three-way match at Final Resolution for the title shot at Jeff Jarrett later in the PPV. Tenay then calls out Jeff Jarrett for an interview. Tenay says Dusty Rhodes has stacked the deck against Jarrett at the PPV, since he has 3 possible opponents. Tenay says he wants to see Jarrett end up facing his teammate Kevin Nash (I don't, I'd rather not see a finger poke World Title match finish). Jarrett says everyone thinks they have it figured out, but he's proven they don't since he's still World Champion after going through everyone from Sting to Jeff Hardy. Jarrett says DDP is too caught up with Watts and Raven for him to be worried about. Jarrett says when Brown stepped on Planet Jarrett, he was eaten alive. Now Jarrett addresses Nash, saying their will be no divide and conquer and the Kings of Wrestling will not fall to Dusty Rhodes game plan. Jarrett says in TNA there is only one way, his way, and he's telling Kevin to get his head straight. DDP interupts the interview. Brown then comes out as well and the three fight in the ring. Nash then comes out with Scott Hall. Nash fights with Brown, as Jarrett fights with DDP. Jarrett accidently clotheslines Scott Hall. Nash doesn't like this and he yells at Jarrett. Brown clotheslines Jarrett from behind and then clotheslines Nash, as DDP sends Jarrett out of the ring and Nash follows by rolling outside. Security then comes out and breaks everything up.

Kid Kash & Dallas vs. Dustin Rhodes & Jeff Hardy

Hardy and Kash start things off. They exchange offense. Kash with a DDT followed by a dropkick. Kash gets distracted with Rhodes, and this allows Hardy to get some kicks in and tag in Rhodes. Rhodes with a big back body drop on Kash. Rhodes with some big right hands. Kash somehow gets a tag in to Dallas. Rhodes nails 9 punches to Dallas in the corner and then a big bionic elbow. Rhodes then gets distracted by Kash allowing Dallas to nail a big boot to Rhodes and tag in Kash. Rhodes misses a shoulder in the corner and goes crashing into the ringpost. Kash with an armbar on Rhodes laying on the mat. Kash tags in Dallas. Dallas with a clothesline on Rhodes and then tags in Kash again. Kash and Dallas double team Rhodes, ending up with Kash executing a clothesline. Dallas sits on the top rope, and Kash goes up and jumps off his shoulders executing a moonsault but Rhodes moves. Kash misses a dropkick. Rhodes executes a Rock Bottom. Both men tag in their partners. Hardy with the sitdown legdrop to the lower abdomen of Dallas. Hardy then atomic drops Kash. Kash breaks up a Hardy pin attempt, which brings Rhodes into the mix to take care of Kash. Rhodes sends Kash to the corner, and then Hardy springboards off Rhodes' back to nail a high leg to the face of Kash in the corner. Dallas then gets up and fights with Rhodes. Rhodes nails a bulldog, and then Hardy comes off the top rope with the Swanton on the fallen Dallas. Hardy makes the cover and gets the pin. Decent match but a bit sloppy. Better than the last match, but not as good as the opening three.

Winners: Dustin Rhodes & Jeff Hardy

-Backstage, Jarrett and Nash argue with security seperating them. Jarrett tells Nash to get his head in the game. Jarrett tells Nash that he did it to Hunter and Shawn 10 years ago, he screwed everyone in WCW, but TNA is Jarrett's world. Jarrett tells Hall to get Nash's head in the game. Nash tells Jarrett there isn't room for both of them here.

Question #5:

How do you know if you are overweight or not...or in a healthy weight?

I'm 13, weigh 140 lbs, 5'2 and i checked my bmi and it said i was at risk of becoming overweight. I have a bigger frame then most people so that evens out my stomach fat, so my stomach is flat, but not skinny. I am also a ton stronger then most people my age...as in, in 3rd grade i would arm wrestle the other boys in my class (yes, i was lame) and i beat all of them. So i always have had more muscle then girls my age...it's bigger than my sister's who is 2 years older than me.
I know most of you will tell me not to be worried about my weight at my age, but i AM worried about it and i wont stop worrying about it until I figure out if the bmi thing is right or wrong.
So what do you think?

am I a wrestling fan?

I know it sounds like a strange question, but please bare with me: I respect high flyers but they don't excite me that much. Being a good athlete doesn't necesarlly mean being a good wrestler. But when I see guys like Ric Flair doing a figure four or Brets sharpshooter or tehcnical submission moves, I always get excited and hyped up shouting at my TV. "grab the f*cking rope!!" "tap out, tap out!!" "yes, yes!!" "no, no!!!" or whatever. and when I see old wrestling (like first wrestlemanias) I find it extremely slow and boring ,when I see westling now, I find it too PG and too "flashy" to be any exciting. But yet, I loved the Harts and HBK and Benoit and dunno who else on late 90s and early 2000s. So I really don't get it.. Can I be a fan of the technical part without carrying too much about the rest? Am I a wrestling fan or not?

Agree or disagree, wrestling as a sport itself shouldn't be for kids?

I know that since its the PG era its more kid friendly so kids will wanna buy WWE Superstars' merchandise & action figures & stuff so WWE makes more money, but wrestling itself shouldn't be for kids. & even in the storylines when people get attacked(like the Nexus attacking WWE superstars) or getting into brawls, doesn't that show SOME violence/isn't that kinda like exposing kids to violence indirectly even though PG isn't supposed to have any violence?

Skyler Marie vs Cameron Hart Winner Faces Hunteress at War time for YCW Womens title

Before the match starts Hunteress's entrance is played and she is going to join the announce team. Sky and Cameron Hart then both make there way out, and the match gets under way. Sky gives Cameron Hart a DDT, followed by a Suplex. She then gives her an Armbar and goes for the cover 1........2.....but Cameron Hart manages to kick out. Sky then Irish Whips her onto the corner and she gives her a running clothesline. She then climbs the turnbuckle and goes for the Body Slam but Cameron Hart reverses it and goes for the cover 1................2................. but Sky kicks out. Cameron then gives Sky a Dropkick. Followed by a Suplex. She then gives her a Standing Moonsault and goes for the cover 1..............2............... but Sky kicks out.Cameron is then angry she signals for the Dead Bytch but with an elbow, she then Irish Whips her onto the ropes and clotheslines her onto the outside. They brawl on the outside, they exchange shots then Sky gives Cameron a Suplex on the floor, Then she smashes her head onto the announce table and throws her at Hunteress!!! Sky then brings her back to the ring and goes for the cover 1...............2................. but Cameron Hart kicks out! Sky brags for a while, and from behind Cameron Hart cradled pins her!! 1...................2..................but Sky manages to kick out!! Sky gives her a vicious clothesline and Irish Whips her onto the turnbuckle. She climbs the turnbuckle and she gives her a suplex from the top rope!!!!!! Both are down for a while, then Sky is up first, she locks Cameron Hart in The Figure 4 Leg Lock!!!!! Cameron is pain for about 20 seconds, she is about to tap, but she somehow manages to reveres it!!!! Sky is about to tap too, but she finally gets to the ropes!! Both divas are then down for about 30 seconds. Botched wrestling match finishes?

I remember around 1999 there was one tag team match on WCW Saturday Night where a tag team (I believe it was Duncum and Kendal Windham) were supposed to win a match against some other jobbers, but one of the two didn't kick out, so the jobbers won (I can't figure out when this was, if anyone can help me. It might have been some other team, but I thought it was Duncum and Windham).

Anyway, the question is, have you ever seen a match ending get messed up?

I think the match I saw was on September 4, 1999 between the Windhams (the "West Texas Rednecks") and the "Texas Outlaws" (some jobbers). The info I see online says that the Windhams won that match, but I know that there was some match where the jobbers won accidentally and I think this might have been it. Does anyone have access to this episode of WCW Saturday Night?

While specific details surrounding her abrupt departure from the organization have yet to be disclosed, it said that she was let go in a disciplinary measure. The Pro Wrestling Torch cryptically notes that she was not “living out” her Straight Edge Society persona in public.
The decision to cut the six-time Ohio Valley Wrestling Women’s Champion was actually made a few days ago, but word had not surfaced until Monday night.

I'm a 17 year old guy and just started senior year of high school. So far, I've never had a girlfriend nor have I been anywhere close to having a relationship. I'm fairly shy when I first meet people, but once I know someone I'm more outgoing. I'm also pretty awkward around girls that I like. For the last few years I decided not to worry about a relationship, and I figured that something would eventually happen. It seems that whenever I like someone though, I just end up being good friends with them, and it never goes anywhere =/ . I really have no experience with this sort of thing, so any thoughts on things I ought to do or change would be appreciated.
